Charles Leclerc expects that Ferrari's performance at the
Miami Grand Prix on Sunday, May 5 will depend largely on whether their rivals will receive upgrade packages.
The Prancing Horse has made progress this season to emerge as the closest challengers to Red Bull in the opening five races with five podiums, including a one-two finish in the Australian Grand Prix.
Leclerc finished 2.366 seconds behind team-mate Carlos Sainz in Melbourne to follow up on his P3 in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which have been his best performances to date in 2024.

The Monegasque narrowly missed out on the podium in the Japanese Grand Prix and the Chinese Grand Prix, claiming P4 on both occasions and placing him third in the drivers' standings, nine points behind Sergio Perez and 34 adrift of Max Verstappen.
Leclerc believes upgrades will shape the rest of the season and is hoping the team can find a solution to the problem which saw them struggle on the hard tyres in Shanghai.
"[Between now and Miami], we'll be working, obviously, on trying to understand what was going on the hard [tyres], to try and fix that and hopefully don't have that again sometime in the season," the 26-year-old driver said.
"But I don't know. It also depends on whoever is bringing upgrades there [in Miami]. We probably won't, we'll have to wait a bit longer.
"I think that [upgrades] is going to be the game changer for the rest of the season - the upgrades are going to be super important to see how the season will develop after that."
