The Cleveland Cavaliers and Oklahoma City Thunder will renew their rivalry with an NBA Regular Season game at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland on the morning of 22 February 2021, with tip-off at 02:00 CAT.

The Cavaliers find themselves well off the pace of the leading teams in the Eastern Conference, with their struggles best demonstrated by heavy defeats at the hands of the Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers within the past week.

“I mean, obviously, we're going through a rough patch at a tough time against very good teams,” said Cleveland coach J.B. Bickerstaff, who added that key man Kevin Love is set to be available again after a spell on the sidelines with a calf strain: “He’s making steps in the right direction. I would expect an update within the next week or so, but he’s headed in the right direction.”

The Thunder, meanwhile, are in a similarly precarious position in the Western Conference, though they have come up against tough opponents such as the Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers and reigning champions LA Lakers in recent games.

They have also been decimated by injuries and health-protocol un-availabilities. “There’s going to be nights like that. The main thing you want to focus on is the way you compete,” Kenrich Williams said after a narrow loss to the Nuggets this past weekend. “The past three games, although we didn’t win...I’m proud of the way we competed.”

Williams himself has come in for praise from Thunder veteran Al Horford: I’ve been talking about K-Rich since I first got here. He really impressed me, just very early on.”
