Charles Leclerc will be determined to continue his great form at the Australian Grand Prix and clinch his second win of the current season.

The Monégasque star finished fifth at the last Australian Grand Prix which took place in 2019 in what was his debut campaign as a Ferrari driver.

Leclerc won the first race of the 2022 campaign which was the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 20, before finishing second at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on March 27

Leclerc's teammate Carlos Sainz Jr third respectively in Saudi Arabia as Ferrari enjoyed a successful race in Saudi Arabia.

Looking at the 2022 Drivers' Championship standings, Leclerc is still sitting at the top and he will be keen to consolidate his spot by winning the Australian Grand Prix.

Sebastian Vettel, who is now with Aston Martin, is the last Ferrari driver to win the Australian Grand Prix as he clinched it in 2018 and Leclerc is eager to emulate the four-time Formula One world champion.

“It wasn’t enough today but oh my god, I really enjoyed the race. Again, it was hard racing but fair. Every race should be like this. It was fun," Leclerc said after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

"I am of course disappointed – I wanted to win today. It was very, very tricky. I tried to have the DRS in the last corner. It worked twice, but it didn’t the last time.

“We were quick in the corners but quite slow in the straights because we put more downforce, so it was extremely difficult to cover Max in the straights. But it’s like this – he did a great job and it was a fun race.”

Ferrari (78 points) are placed at the top of the Constructors' Championship standings and they are followed by Mercedes (38 points) and Red Bull Racing-RBPT (37 points) respectively.
