The Blues suffered a 1-0 loss to US Lecce away on 13 April and it was their second defeat in their last three matches in the Italian top-flight.
Empoli defeated Torino FC in their last home match in the league and the win ended their four-match winless run at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
Meanwhile, Napoli are now undefeated in their last two matches in Serie A after drawing 2-2 with Frosinone Calcio at home on 14 April.
