La Liga title now out of reach, Atletico Madrid will shift their focus to finishing strong when they visit Alaves at the Mendizorrotza Stadium on Saturday afternoon, 3 May.
Following their shock defeat to relegation-threatened Las Palmas, Atletico picked themselves up with a dominating 3-0 win over Rayo Vallecano.
The Madrid team has made headlines following their rivals Real Madrid’s loss to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final, telling their noisy neighbours to stop allegedly targeting match officials.

Atletico head coach Diego Simeone wants his side to keep up the momentum until the end of the season after their win against Vallecano to strengthen their grip on third place.
"It doesn't make me angry that we're scoring goals now, it's part of the process. In football many scenarios can happen and we have to be prepared for whatever comes our way," the Argentine said.
"In the league we have been competing quite well and I hope we can maintain this line game by game until the end.”
His compatriot, Eduardo Coudet, who is the coach of Alaves says that his charges need to be more aggressive and create goals.
"We’re a team that needs to work on movement and ball circulation. We lack that player who can dribble past opponents and create a goal from nothing,” he said.
“The closest to that role is Carlos Vicente, but he’s more comfortable moving wide than playing centrally.”
