Kimi Antonelli will be determined to maintain his strong start to the season and extend his championship lead at the 2026 Miami Grand Prix.

The Mercedes driver won the Japanese Grand Prix on 29 March, the most recent round of the 2026 Formula One World Championship.
Antonelli took pole and victory at Suzuka to become the youngest-ever championship leader, collecting 25 points from the race.
Formula One ambitions
The 19-year-old Italian sits top of the World Drivers’ Championship standings with 72 points after three races.
He leads team-mate George Russell (63 points) by nine points and is the youngest driver in history to lead the championship, with Mercedes dominating the early Constructors’ standings.
Why Antonelli could win in Miami
Antonelli impressed in Miami last year with a surprise Sprint pole and has shown strong pace on this flowing track.
As a Sprint weekend, it suits his qualifying strength and race management and Mercedes are expected to remain competitive as rivals bring upgrades.
What did he say?
“The goal ready for Miami is to be back from where we left in Japan, or even be back even stronger from where we left," Antonelli said ahead of the 2026 Miami GP.
“I think overall I feel stronger, I feel more in control of the situation. Having done all the tracks last year is definitely helping this year so far. I know better how to move around, how to manage myself during the weekend.
"I just feel more relaxed, more confident, as I said before, more in control of the situation.”
