Following a hard-fought win over Chelsea last time out in the Premier League, Manchester United could strengthen their grip on third place when they take on Brentford at home next Monday.
The Red Devils came away with three vital points during their 1-0 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last Saturday as they made amends from their 2-1 home defeat against Leeds United during Matchday 32.
United currently occupy third on the log with 58 points from 33 matches, enduring a sticky spell of results that includes two wins, two losses and one draw in their last five.
The 20-time league winners will target a return to UEFA Champions League football for the first time since the 2023/24 campaign while Aston Villa and Liverpool breathe down their necks in fourth and fifth place respectively.
Brentford will travel to Old Trafford on the back of five consecutive draws in the Premier League, the latest being a 0-0 stalemate with Fulham at home last Saturday.
As it stands, Brentford occupy seventh on the table after noting 48 points from 33 games played so far.

Following United’s victory over Chelsea, Michael Carrick expressed that his side can be even better during the closing stages of the season with Champions League football in full view.
“We want to look behind us [in the table]. I understand what it means but we want to try and improve and move forward,” Carrick said.
“We're still not high enough. It's good for our support, I hope they enjoy it travelling home and away.
“We win some, might not always win but doing it a way where everyone can buy into it and have a connection, it's what we're all in for.”
