Celta Vigo will square off with Atletico Madrid in a
Spanish La Liga match at the Abanca-Balaídos on August 15.
The Sky Blues suffered a 3-2 defeat to Real Betis in their last league match of the 2020/21 season which was played on May 22.
The defeat ended Celta's five-match unbeaten run in this competition having recorded five consecutive victories.
The defeat to Betis also ended Celta's three-match unbeaten run at home in La Liga having recorded three successive wins.
Meanwhile, Atletico secured a 2-1 victory over Real Valladolid away and they clinched the La Liga title on the last day of last season in a match that was played on May 22.
The Mattress Makers are unbeaten in their last five matches in the league having registered four wins and one draw.
Atletico are also unbeaten in their three away matches on the road in La Liga having recorded one draw and two wins as the visitors.

Rodrigo de Paul, Atletico's new midfielder, is looking forward to playing under manager Diego Simeone at the reigning La Liga champions.
"I am very happy to be able to work under Simeone's orders. First of all because of the kind of coach he is, one of the best,'" De Paul said.
"I love football and I live it every day, and being led by a coach of Simeone's caliber and it also gives you pride as a compatriot.
"I like to be at his command because I was born watching him play with the Argentine national team shirt."
The last meeting between Celta and Atletico in a league match was on 8 February 2021.
The two teams played to a 2-2 draw in an encounter which was played at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
