Ducati rider Jack Miller will be keen to end his bad run when he takes part in the Austrian Grand Prix on August 15.

The Australian star finished third in last's Austrian MotoGP behind race winner Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati and Suzuki rider Joan Mir, who secured the runner-up spot.

Miller has been forced to retire in the last two races in the current season including the recent Styrian Grand Prix on August 8.

The Styrian MotoGP was won by Jorge Martin of Ducati and he was followed by Joan Mir of Suzuki and Yamaha rider Fabian Quartararo, who finished second and third respectively.

Quartararo is still placed at the top of the 2021 Riders' standings with eight races left in the current 2021 campaign.

While Ducati rider Johann Zarco and Mir are placed second and third respectively on the standings as they look to catch Quartararo.

Miller is currently placed fifth on the standings heading into the Austrian MotoGP where he will be determined to avoid another forced retirement.

Miller was left kicking himself after a second straight MotoGP crash that has left his championship hopes looking extremely remote.

“It felt good. Fabio was struggling more with the front tyre when I was behind him. That was my strong point, I felt,” said Miller.

“I think it was just me. He was gaining a little bit on the edge accelerating out of [Turn] 6. I reeled him back in, I was just trying to get right on his arse at 7 to have a lunge into the second-last corner down the hill.

“But as I tipped it in, it just started going on me. There’s that white line that’s been painted black before the corner, and I think it started from there."

Yamaha are placed at the top of Constructors' Championship standings and they are followed by Ducati and KTM respectively.
