Still in search of his first win during the 2025 Formula 1 season, Ferrari and Charles Leclerc will target yet another positive placing at the upcoming
Hungarian Grand Prix.
While McLaren pushed the pace at Spa with their P1 and P2 lock at the top of the pile, Leclerc added a fifth podium finish to his name this season in P3 on Sunday.
Leclerc gripped the position tightly with reigning World Champion Max Verstappen breathing down his neck, given that the two drivers pitted at the same time after the rain subsided on the track.
On the slick tyres, Leclerc held his own and saw the checkered flag by 1.546s ahead of the aggressive Dutchman.
As perhaps the best of the rest behind the McLarens at the Belgian Grand Prix, Leclerc spoke of the pressure he faced from Verstappen who ended the race in P4.
“Max was behind the whole race within two seconds so it’s never easy,” Leclerc said after the race.
“I knew the first part of the race was the trickiest one for us because we maybe didn’t have the downforce that McLaren or Max had, as they compromised a bit on Qualifying to be better in the rain today.
“But luckily it dried up pretty quickly and the pace was good, but still Max was right behind the whole race, so I’m pretty happy that we managed to keep that third place.”
As it stands, Leclerc sits in fifth position on the Driver’s list, while Ferrari (second) trail McLaren (leaders) on the Constructors standings by 268 points.
