Collin Morikawa will be on a mission to redeem himself by winning the
Tour Championship after finishing second in last year's event.
What to know about Morikawa
The American star turned professional in 2019, having won the Arnold Palmer Cup team in 2017 and 2018, and being part of the Walker Cup winning team in 2017
Morikawa has won seven professional tournaments to date, including six PGA Tour events including two major championships, the 2020 PGA Championship and the 2021 Open Championship, winning both in his debut.

The former top-ranked golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking was in action at the recent BMW Championship in Maryland, USA, where he finished 33rd.
Morikawa is placed seventh on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and his best overall ranking is second.
Why Morikawa is among the favourites
Las Vegas, Nevada-based sportsman will be returning to the East Lake Golf Club, where he finished second behind Scottie Scheffler, who posted a 4-under 67 to win the 2024 Tour Championship.
Morikawa played some of his best golf this season at The Sentry and Arnold Palmer Invitational, finishing second on both occasions and he will now be eager to win his first tournament of the year in Atlanta.

“Like every other sport, you have a chance to win essentially your championship. And that's what you get here,” Morikawa said when asked about the 2025 Tour Championship being played as a 72-hole stroke-play event.
“It's just golf, golf's really tough because, you know, how do you reward that in a way that someone had played really, really well from January through August essentially for however many events we play, but this is what they're making it, and I love it because it's one tournament, you want to be there, and you want to win it.”
