Former US Open winner Wyndham Clark will be targeting a major improvement when he returns for the Wyndham Championship on Thursday, July 31.
The world No. 25 does not have good memories of the Sedgefield Country Club after missing the cut in two of his previous three appearances (2020 and 2021).
Clark heads into the PGA Tour regular season finale with just two top-10 finishes this year - his best performance coming at the Open Championship recently (T4).
The American is guaranteed a place at the FedEx Cup Playoffs opener, St. Jude Championship, and will be hoping to make it to the Tour Championship which is the third event and reserved for the top 30.
Clark is determined to let his golf do the talking after being banned from the Oakmont Country Club for damaging a locker during the US Open recently.
The 31-year-old missed the cut at the major in Pennsylvania and his anger boiled over after climbing to 8-over at the midway point.
"Obviously I feel terrible with what happened. I'm doing anything I can to try to remedy the situation," Clark said.
"We're trying to keep it private between Oakmont, myself and the USGA. I'm just happy we have a pathway moving forward, and like you said, I'm hoping we can get past this and move on and hope there's no ill-will towards me and Oakmont.
"I've been pretty open about my mental shift and change to get better, and I did that in '23 and '24, and then having a tough year and all the expectations and just frustration all coming together, and I did two stupid things.
"But one thing that it did do is wake me up and get me back into the person I know I am and the person I want to be. I hope those things don't reflect because I don't think they reflect on who I am, and going forward that stuff is not going to happen again."
