Frosinone will look to upset Juventus when the teams meet for a Matchday 1 Serie A clash at the Benito Stirpe Stadium on the early evening of Sunday 23 August.

Form and team news

Frosinone have returned to Serie A for the first time since 2024, after the finished second in Serie B in the 2025/26 season. Coach Massimiliano Alvini has been tasked with keeping the Canarini in the top flight.

Frosinone have boosted their squad with the additions of Luis Hasa, Alessio Zerbin, Ben Lhassine Kone, Giacomo Calo, Kevin Akpoguma and Anouar El Azzouzi – better preparing them for a challenging season in the elite league.

Juventus endured a disappointing season in 2025/26, coming home in sixth place to qualify only for the UEFA Europa League, rather than the Champions League. Coach Luciano Spalletti is under pressure to turn the Bianconeri back into title contenders – the kind of magic he worked at Napoli, Roma and elsewhere.

Juve have been active in the transfer window by bringing in Luis Openda (who has since been loaned out), Randal Kolo Muani, Kerim Alajbegovic, Jeff Ekhator, Jeremie Boga and Zeki Celik, while Timothy Weah and Facundo Gonzalez have been sold.

Quotes

Juventus winger Jeremie Boga: “I’ve been very impressed by [Kerim Alajbegovic], but I often watch videos on YouTube, so I already knew about him and had seen some of the things he can do. I really like players of this type because they’re unpredictable and can do things that others can’t. I think that’s a quality we’re going to need.

“There isn’t long to go now until the start of the season, and we’ll have to be ready against Frosinone. I think we’ve worked very well throughout our preparations, both physically and tactically.”

Head-to-head

Frosinone and Juventus have met in nine matches dating back as far as 2006. The Bianconeri boast an unbeaten record, with eight wins and one draw.

Juve completed a league ‘double’ over Frosinone when the latter was last in Serie A in 2023/24, winning 2-1 away and 3-2 at home (as well as 4-0 in an Italian Cup tie).
