Alexander Zverev arrives in New York aiming to capture his second major title clinching the US Open trophy.
What to know about Zverev
The German star has collected 25 ATP singles titles throughout his career, and his breakthrough Grand Slam victory came at the 2026 French Open.
Zverev has added two ATP Finals triumphs and seven Masters 1000 crowns, and reached five Grand Slam finals in total, finishing runner-up at the 2020 US Open, 2024 Roland Garros, 2025 Australian Open and 2026 Wimbledon.

Zverev’s most recent appearance ended in the fourth round of the Cincinnati Open, where he fell to American Tommy Paul on 19 August.
Currently ranked world No. 3, he is expected to be the top seed at the US Open following Jannik Sinner’s withdrawal and his career-high ranking remains No. 2.

Having already tasted major success in Paris earlier this year, the 29-year-old powerful baseliner will be highly motivated to go one step further than his 2020 final appearance in New York.
With Sinner absent and Alcaraz returning from injury, Zverev stands as one of the clearest favourites to lift the trophy on the hard courts of Flushing Meadows.
