The
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Fight Night 169 will take place at the Chartway Arena in Virginia, the USA on Saturday.
A flyweight bout between Joseph Benavidez and Deiveson Figueiredo is expected to serve as the headliner.
Benavidez, who has also fought in Dream and WEC, in a veteran American fighter and he is ranked number one in the UFC flyweight rankings.
While Brazilian fighter Figueiredo was the formal 57 kg Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Northeast Brazil champion and he is number three in the UFC flyweight division.
Benavidez, who has fought in the bantamweight and featherweight divisions, has stated that remains focused in the flyweight division ahead of his fight with Figueiredo.
“Honestly, it might sound crazy, but I just want to fight the next best person in my division,” Benavidez said.
“No other gender, no other weight-class, no other anything, I just want to fight the best guys in my division, like I’ve been doing my whole career.”
Meanwhile, A women's featherweight bout between Felicia Spencer and Zarah Fairn dos Santos is also set to take place at Fight Night 169.
While a welterweight bout between Alex Oliveira and Mickey Gall was scheduled for the event.
However, the bout was pulled from the event by the UFC in December 2019 and bout will not be replaced and no reason was given by the UFC.
Lastly, Ion Cuțelaba is set to take on Magomed Ankalaev in the light heavyweight bout on the night.
