Betway Ghana Honours World Water Day

Betway is committed to investing in Ghana in an effort to make positive change within the communities.

We decided to head out and help some communities who were in need of a little upliftment this past Wednesday on World Water Day. Marked annually on 22nd March by the United Nations (UN), World Water Day is celebrated to tackle global water crisis. The focus of celebrations this year is the importance of fresh water and sustainable management of freshwater resources.

In honour of #WorldWaterDay, #BetwayGhana and the 4Change Initiative headed to Oyarifa on Wednesday to present a 7,500 Litre water tank to the community. The People of Oyarifa have faced strong challenges regarding water supply and often have to rely on highly expensive water tanker services that are taking their toll on their finances. We hope the donation of this tank will be of massive benefit to the community as a whole.

A member of the Oyarifa Council of Elders, Nii Larsey Okontoh said excitedly, “we are extremely grateful to Betway and 4Change for this timely intervention. With this gift we are sure to have reduced burden in sourcing water during cuts in supply and as a community, our arms are open ever wide for more of such generous interventions from Betway.”

Betway Ghana also donated several assorted items to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital to help ease the stress on the hospital due to a recent shortage in supplies. Items included clinical gloves, infant and adult diapers, cleaning detergents, toilet rolls, rice, toothpaste and various other toiletries.
