The Copa Del Rey Round of 16 second-leg ties will take centre stage in Spain this week with 15 of the 16 remaining sides representing La Liga. Sporting Gijon are the sole flag-flyers for the Liga Adelante.

Some mouth-watering ties are on the cards with the affairs all finely poised. We will be previewing a handful of those each day in the build-up to help you make your picks when you back your boys with Betway!

REAL VALLADOLID VS GETAFE CF – JOSE ZORRILLA STADIUM – AGG: 0-1

Two teams both enduring mixed fortunes thus far in La Liga will clash at the Jose Zorilla on Tuesday with everything to play for. Just six points separate Getafe in sixth place on the La Liga log, from Valladolid down in 14th. Angel Diaz’s strike in stoppage time last week ensured that Getafe head into this encounter with the slight advantage.

Copa Del Rey Quarter-Finals in Sight for Spain’s Greatest

Valladolid have notched up just two wins from their last 13 matches in all competitions – winning 2-1 both home and away against Mallorca in the last round of the Copa – as the team whose major shareholder is the great Brazilian Ronaldo ‘El Fenomeno” are finding it difficult to stop their slide down the league standings.

Getafe on the other hand have suffered just one defeat in their last nine matches in all competitions – a 2-1 home loss to league leaders Barcelona in the first game o the new year – with manager Jose Bordalas poised to guide the Azulones into the last eight of the competition for the first time in four years.

There is little-to-nothing to separate the two sides ahead of their Copa Del Rey meeting. Getafe’s 1-0 win on Wednesday drew them level with Valladolid in their head-to-head record, on five victories apiece, with four draws between them. Pucela are unbeaten though in six home matches against Getafe, winning the last three by the odd goal.

VALENCIA VS SPORTING GIJON – ESTADIO MESTALLA – AGG: 1-2

Valencia have struggled to match their lofty heights of last season when Los Che finished fourth in La Liga and qualified for the UEFA Champions League in the process. With just four wins from their first 19 league matches, it appears a positive result for Marcelino’s men on Tuesday could kick-start the second half of their campaign.

Copa Del Rey Quarter-Finals in Sight for Spain’s Greatest

Sporting Gijon have been condemned back to the Spanish Segunda Division since the end of last season and have struggled to break back into the top-flight contention this season. The Rojiblancos have registered just four wins from their last 12 matches in all competitions since beating Eibar 2-0 in the first leg of the Round of 32 at the start of November and currently occupy 12th place in the league standings.

Javi Noblejas and Nick Blackman netted either side of a Kevin Gameiro strike for the visitors to secure a memorable 2-1 win and something to defend heading into what will be a tough test of the Copa Del Rey credentials at the Mestalla.

That victory on Wednesday ended a run of four successive defeats at home against Valencia while Sporting are also unbeaten in their last two visits to the Mestalla. The corresponding fixture in the league last season ended in a 1-1 stalemate when Munir el Haddadi bagged an 85th minute equaliser for the hosts after Duje Cop had given Gijon a 60th minute lead.
