Villarreal CF will battle with Elche CF in a Spanish

Meanwhile, Elche drew 1-1 with Cadiz at home in their last league match which was played on November 28.
As a result, the Green Stripped Ones are winless in their last four matches in this competition having registered three successive draws and one defeat.
Elche are also winless in their last two matches on the road in La Liga having recorded one draw and one victory.

Jorge Almiron, the Elche manager, discussed his side's current form having recorded their third consecutive draw against Cadiz.
"We always go out there with the intention of winning. The feeling that remains is that we could do something else," Almiron said.
"I have the bitter feeling that we couldn't complete eleven against eleven [after Lucas Boye was sent off against Cadiz]. The rivals are very difficult. I value draws a lot.
"By statistics, the teams that are relegated lose a lot of games. We must be very strong in every way. But I'm not worried about the dynamics."
The last meeting between Villarreal and Elche in a league match was on 10 May 2015.
The Yellow Submarine emerged 1-0 winners over the Green Stripped Ones in an encounter which was played at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
