Leeds went into Christmas on a three-game losing streak and in 16th spot on the league standings, five points ahead of Burnley and the relegation zone.

The Leeds squad has been depleted by injury, forcing manager Marcelo Bielsa to call on the club's academy players and this has made things even more difficult for the West Yorkshire club.

“We have to stick together, every game is tough in this league but we just have to look to the next one to get points and go from there," said Leeds midfielder Adam Forshaw after their 4-1 loss to Arsenal on the 18th of December.

"It’s the least we can do, we can show a lot of attitude and desire, be as aggressive as we can and play the Leeds United way.

“It’s unbelievable to know they’ve (the fans) got your back through the tough time that we have at the moment. The way the squad is, it’s so stretched.

“But, we’re sticking together, which is the only way we know," he added.

Burnley went into Christmas on a five-game winless run and two points from safety.

Leeds are unbeaten in three Premier League matches against the Clarets and the two teams shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor earlier this season. Chris Wood scored for Burnley and Patrick Bamford for Leeds.
