Matchday 16

Liverpool FC v Brighton and Hove Albion

Anfield

Liverpool, England

Saturday, 13 December 2025

Kick-off is at 15h00

Liverpool FC will play host to unpredictable Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League showdown at Anfield on 13 December.

Current Form

The Reds let a two-goal lead slip as they drew 3-3 with Leeds United away on 6 December, but they are undefeated in their last three matches in the league.

However, Liverpool are winless in their last two home matches in the Premier League at Anfield, having recorded one defeat and one draw.

Brighton, on the other hand, drew 1-1 with West Ham United at home on 7 December and they are winless in their last two matches in the league.

However, the Seagulls are undefeated in their last two away matches in the Premier League, having registered one draw and one victory as the visitors.

Team News
Liverpool have Jayden Danns, Jeremie Frimpong, Giovanni Leoni and Stefan Bajcetic on their injury list, and their teammate Conor Bradley will be absent due to a one-match suspension.

Meanwhile, Adam Webster, Solly March, Kaoru Mitoma, James Milner and Stefanos Tzimas are all on Brighton's injury list, and there are no suspension concerns for Fabian Hurzeler's side.

Quotes

“He (Georginio Rutter) deserved it and we are quite happy that he is now on the sheet which will give him a boost for the next game. Overall, it was a disappointing result. We wanted more but didn’t deserve more, especially after the first-half performance," Brighton manager Hurzeler said after the draw against West Ham.

"We didn’t have energy or intensity – there were no connections. We started playing football after we conceded a goal. The reaction to conceding was good but overall, we can’t be happy. Their goal was definitely avoidable. It came from our mistake so it’s disappointing.”

Head-to-Head

Brighton claimed a 3-2 win over Liverpool in their last meeting in the league, which was in May 2025 at the American Express Stadium.

The win snapped the Seagulls' three-match winless run in the Premier League against the Reds, who had registered one draw and two victories.
