Barcelona will be seeking their first win in three
La Liga meetings with Real Betis when they clash at La Cartuja on Saturday, December 6.
The Blaugrana failed to pick up maximum points both home and away against Los Verdiblancos last season, with their visit to Seville seeing them held to a 2-2 draw.
Hansi Flick's side reclaimed top spot from Real Madrid after beating Alaves 3-1 on November 29 as their arch-rivals dropped points for the third game in succession following a 1-1 draw with Girona.
Barca have now won their last four matches since suffering a 2-1 defeat to Los Blancos on October 26, but Flick will be concerned by the amount of goals they've shipped this term (16) as his defence have only kept four clean sheets.
The Catalan giants are one point clear of Real at the summit, but that could all change by the weekend as both teams play in midweek, with the former hosting Atletico Madrid on December 3 and the latter travelling to Athletic Bilbao 24 hours later.
Betis are duking it out with Espanyol for Europa League contention as the two clubs have fallen behind in the race for UEFA Champions League football.
Manuel Pellegrini's side secured the local bragging rights after running out 2-0 victors over neighbours Sevilla on November 30 to extend their unbeaten run to four games.
The Andalusian outfit managed to stay ahead of the Parakeets on goal difference in fifth spot, but they both trail Atleti by seven points.
Flick acknowledged there are still areas where Barca can improve upon, although he was pleased to pick up three important points against the Babazorros.
"Given everything we did, we managed it well, and the three points were the most important thing," the German said, but stressed they can "improve many more things and we are working on them."
