While the Blades did manage a FA Cup victory over the weekend, they head into back-to-back games against Newcastle United and Spurs this week having yet to register a single league win this season.

After 17 games, Sheffield have conjured a mere two points for the worst ever start to a Premier League season and Wilder admitted that he and his team took little joy from their win over Bristol Rovers in the Cup.
"They care, they hurt, they’re not toilet-bag footballers," Wilder said.

"I look into their eyes and nobody’s enjoyed it, not me, the coaching staff, the players and most importantly the supporters. I know they care and hopefully this lifts off them a little bit with a win, because this wasn’t a straightforward game with the injuries we’ve had and the form we’ve been in.

"Outside our changing room, it was possibly deemed as a game that would go against us. I’m not being critical of that because I understand that - it goes with the territory when you don’t win games of football."

Spurs are also in action two times this week with a home match against Fulham, who are also battling relegation, to be followed by a trip to Sheffield on Sunday.

The North London club head into the week having returned to winning ways with a 3-0 triumph over Leeds United which ended a four-game winless run.

Sheffield took four points off Spurs last season, following a 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a 3-1 victory at Bramall Lane.
