57th Season

Matches Played: 306
Goals Scored: 982

Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho had his breakthrough season in the 2019/20 Bundesliga campaign - scoring and creating goals with ease.

The 20-year-old winger found the back of the net 17 times and set up 16 strikes across 32 appearances in what was his second season in the German top-flight.

No player since the 1992/93 campaign has registered at least 15 of both goals and assists in a Bundesliga season which is also the first campaign when records were started according to the league's official website.

The England international also became the first teenager (at the age of 19) to reach 25 career Bundesliga goals when he netted the opener in the 5-0 win over Union Berlin on 01 February 2020.

Sancho also became the youngest player to score 30 goals in the league (at the age of 20) as he bagged a hat-trick at Paderborn on 31 May 2020 - displayed his goalscoring abilities.

"Yeah, I'm happy he's here. He's a great goalscorer. He scores in every type of position and it's always good to have that main striker," Sancho told the league's official website

"Playing behind him and with him is just a great feeling, especially on the training pitch because we work on a lot of things like one-twos.

"I know where to find him and where he wants the ball, and he knows how I want the ball played to me - so it's a good understanding between us."

His Dortmund teammate Erling Haaland secured a prominent place in the history books on his maiden appearance as the first player to score a hat-trick as a substitute on his Bundesliga debut.

Haaland achieved this feat during a match against Augsburg which Dortmund won 5-3 on 18 August 2020 as the immensely talented striker announced his arrival in the Bundesliga.

The 20-year-old marksman, who had joined the Black and Yellows from Austrian champions RB Salzburg in early January 2020, took just 23 minutes to become the fastest ever to three Bundesliga goals.

Hailing from Norway, Haaland also surpassed his Dortmund predecessor Paco Alcacer (72 minutes) as the fastest to five goals in the league (56 minutes).

Lastly, the former Molde FK frontman also became the first to net seven times in his first three games, eight in five and nine in six.
