Im Sung-jae will be one of the favourites to win the
2023 Honda Classic when he tees off at the PGA National Resort and Spa.
What to know about Im Sung-jae
The South Korean star, who is also known as Sungjae Im, won twice and was named Player of the Year on the 2018 Web.com Tour.
Im was then Rookie of the Year for the 2018–19 PGA Tour, and got his first PGA Tour victory at The Honda Classic in March 2020.
The former Korea National Sport University student has clinched five professional tournaments including two events which are part of the PGA Tour.

Im took part in the recent 2023 Genesis Invitational at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades in California, USA where he finished in position 56.
Prior to that, the Cheongju-born golfer secured top 10 finishes at the 2023 WM Phoenix Open and 2023 Farmers Insuance Open finishing sixth and fourth respectively.
Why is Sungjae Im one of the favourites
Im is the highest ranked golfer on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) amongst those who will take part in the 2023 Honda Classic - currently placed 18th on the standings.
The 24-year-old is also familiar with the PGA National Resort and Spa having won the 2020 Honda Classic on the same golf course.
Im finished one stroke ahead of Mackenzie Hughes, and moved to second place in the FedEx Cup standings and he will now be confident of winning this year's tournament.

“I didn't think I would get such good results," Im said after finishing second behind Rory McIlroy at the 2022 Tour Championship which was one of his best performances last year.
"He thought he did well even if he only finished in 5th place, but he is really happy that he finished in second place.
“I think the tee shot was good.There were almost no tee shot mistakes from the second round. I am happy that I had good results in the last, most difficult playoff competition.”
