2025/26 Premier League
Matchday 27
Manchester City v Newcastle United
Etihad Stadium
Manchester, England
Saturday, 21 February 2026
Kick-off: 20:00
Manchester City will be targeting a third successive Premier League win when they clash with Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium on 21 February.
Current Form
City claimed a 3-0 win over Fulham at home on 11 February as they extended their unbeaten run to four matches in the English top tier, winning three games and drawing one.
The Citizens are also unbeaten in their last 11 home matches in the Premier League, having recorded nine wins and two draws at the Etihad Stadium.
Meanwhile, Newcastle secured a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur away on 10 February as they snapped their four-match winless run in the league.
The win also ended the Magpies' two-match winless run on the road in the Premier League, having registered one draw and one defeat as the away side.
Team News
Erling Haaland, Jérémy Doku, Joško Gvardiol Savinho, Mateo Kovačić and John Stones are all on City's injury list, but there are now suspension worries.
Newcastle, on the other hand, also don't have suspension woes, but Josh Cullen, Jordan Beyer, Zeki Amdouni, Mike Trésor, Connor Roberts, and Axel Tuanzebe (doubtful) are on their injury list.
Quotes
“He’s been out for six weeks,” said Pep Guardiola about Savinho ahead of their clash with Newcastle.
“He could [have played against Salford in the FA Cup] a few minutes, but we didn’t want to take risks. Training two days ago was wow, so good. He’s close.
“Now we have a long week and players coming back. Already Savinho, when he will learn to make the finished product he will be an unbelievable winger on both sides.”
Head-to-Head
City suffered a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle in their last Premier League meeting which was at St. James' Park in November 2025.
The win ended the Magpies' 13-match winless run in the league against the Citizens, who had recorded 10 wins and three draws.
