The Magpies have eased their relegation fears with a four-game unbeaten run. A stoppage-time goal from Joe Willock, who is on-loan from Arsenal, earned Newcastle a 1-1 draw at Liverpool last time out and moved them nine points clear of danger with five games to go.

Arsenal followed a 1-1 draw at home to Fulham with a 1-0 loss to Everton in what continues to be a disappointing season for the north London club, who go into the weekend in 10th spot on the league standings.

"Yeah, they [the players] do [need a lift] because they put in a huge effort tonight again, being the better team like they were again against Fulham and we got one point from six so that psychologically is a difficult one to digest," Gunners manager Mikle Arteta said following his team's defeat to Everton at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal claimed a comprehensive 3-0 win over Newcastle in the reverse fixture earlier this season with goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (two) and Bukayo Saka.
