World No.6 Rafael Nadal heads to the
Australian Open fresh off his title win at the Melbourne Summer Set this month.
The Spaniard beat Maxime Cressy in straight sets in the final to claim his 89th singles title. He is tied with Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer for a record 20 Grand Slam wins.

Nadal has won the Australian Open just once, in 2009 when he defeated Federer in five sets. He went on to reach the final on a further four occasions (2012, 2014, 2017, 2019).
The 35-year-old fell to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals last year before making it to the semi-finals of the French Open - the tournament he has won a record 13 times.
Nadal was delighted to kick off the New Year in style after enduring a difficult last six months of 2021.
"Very happy to start the season with a title... and from where we are coming, it's very special," he said.
"If we put everything together and analyze all the things that I went through... of course I am happy."
