The Gambia will lock horns with Cameroon in the 2021
Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final match on January 29.
The Scorpions reached this stage after securing a 1-0 win over Guinea in a Last 16 encounter which was played on January 24.
Therefore, the Gambia remain undefeated in their debut appearance in the AFCON finals having recorded three wins and one draw.
The Scorpians have secured wins over Mauritania, Tunisia and Guinea, while their draw came against their West African rivals, Mali.
Meanwhile, Cameroon booked their place in the quarter-finals after edging out Comoros 2-1 in a match that took place on January 24.
The Indomitable Lions are undefeated in their last four matches in this competition having registered three victories and one draw.
The former African champions started their campaign with a win over Burkina Faso and Ethiopia, before drawing with Cape Verde in their final Group A match.
"When we play in a 4-4-2, the team allows the rival to advance in transition and these transitions give us problems defensively," Cameroon coach Toni Conceição said after the win over Comoros.
"It is by analyzing this that we are not satisfied with the match against Comoros. We lacked aggressiveness in the pressing when the opponents' ball came out. This pressing was not effective, too passive.
"This allowed the rival to pass this first curtain of pressing and put us in difficulty."
The last meeting between the Gambia and Cameroon was on 3 September 2019.
Cameroon overcame the Gambia 2-0 in the 2017 AFCON qualifier which was played at the Stade Omnisport de Limbe in Limbé.
