The 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions will take place at Kapalua Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii between 5 and 8 January.
The event was established in 1953 and for most of its history the field was restricted to golfers who won a tournament on the tour during the previous calendar year.
However, the players who qualified for the preceding Tour Championship are now invited as well and the tournament's title sponsor is Sentry Insurance.

The current champion is Cameron Smith having won 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions, but he won't be returning to defend his title, as the Aussie signed a deal with the LIV Golf Series.
It has been confirmed that Keegan Bradley, Patrick Cantlay, Hideki Matsuyama and Jon Rahm are set to return to Hawaii alongside one of the most accomplished fields in golf.
Past champions Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas have committed to play in this year's tournament and the field will be playing for an $15 million purse.
The event will include the top 30 players from the final FedExCup standings who qualified for the previous year’s Tour Championship in addition to the previous calendar year winners.
The tournament has announced that it has teamed up with Mauna Loa to offer special grounds admission rates for Kama’aina, which are available to local Hawaii residents with a valid photo ID.
“We’re thankful to have the support of an outstanding partner in Mauna Loa,” said Max Novena, Executive Director of Sentry Tournament of Champions.
“This initiative, in partnership with an iconic Hawaiian brand, gives local Hawaii residents the opportunity to enjoy a day at the Sentry Tournament of Champions and experience all the tournament has to offer as we welcome back the world’s best golfers to Maui.”
Jack Nicklaus is the most decorated golfer in the history of the Sentry Tournament of Champions with four titles since the tournament's formation in 1953.
