Brighton & Hove Albion will be looking to build on their recent good performances when Liverpool visit the Amex in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday, January 29.

The Seagulls battled back from behind to earn a 2-2 draw against Leicester last weekend to continue their impressive start to proceedings after the World Cup break.

Roberto De Zerbi's side had beaten Everton (4-1) and the Reds (3-0) in their previous two Premier League encounters to bounce back from a 4-2 defeat against Arsenal.

Albion thrashed Middlesbrough 5-1 in the third round and remain unbeaten in the new year, with De Zerbi pleased to see the younger players stepping up after Evan Ferguson scored his third goal of the season against the Foxes, while Jan Paul van Hecke was handed his first start.

"I am happy for the result and for Ferguson, it was a great header," the Italian said. "He is only 18, a very good player. I want to help him progress without too much pressure, the same for Jan Paul van Hecke."

Liverpool's struggles continued as they were held to a goalless draw by Chelsea last Saturday, which extended their winless run in the league to three matches following back-to-back losses against Brentford and Brighton.

Jurgen Klopp's side edged top-flight rivals 1-0 in the previous round of the famous cup competition and their task doesn't get any easier after a bad result against Albion on January 14.

Klopp has seen minor progress from his players since their last meeting with the south-coast club and labelled it as important to turning their fortunes around.

"For me, it is clear, in this situation you have to be ready for little steps - and this was a little step today, that's how it is," the German said.

"I expect progress and I think from the last league game [at Brighton] it was progress, definitely, and that's important."
