Liverpool FC will be determined to redeem themselves with a win over Newcastle United in the Premier League at Anfield on 31 January.

The Reds suffered a 3-2 defeat to AFC Bournemouth away on 24 January as their 10-match unbeaten run in the English top-flight came to an end.

Giovanni Leoni, Stefan Bajcetic, Jayden Danns, Alexander Isak, Conor Bradley, Federico Chiesa and Joe Gomez are all on Liverpool's injury list, but there are suspension issues for the champions.
Newcastle, on the other hand, also don't have suspension concerns, but Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes, Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar, Tino Livramento and Jacob Murphy are on the Tyneside side's injury list.

"I don't think there's any question about our togetherness. But the consistency that we're looking for, that's something that still needs to be found. That's the reality," Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk said after his side's defeat to Bournemouth.
"I think there was a lot of praise for our performances, a lot of individual praise, and we know how it works and three days later you lose a game like we did today and the other side of the world comes out. That's something we have to deal with.
"But we want to perform, we want to win games and today it didn't happen unfortunately."

Liverpool edged out Newcastle 3-2 in their last meeting in the league, which was played at St. James Park in August 2025.
As a result, the Reds are unbeaten in 17 matches in the Premier League against the Magpies, having registered 12 wins and five draws.
