Nick Dunlap will be keen to become the 11th golfer to win The American Express more than once, joining an illustrious list which includes Arnold Palmer.
What to know about Nick Dunlap
The American golfer won the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2021 and the U.S. Amateur in 2023, before winning The American Express in 2024 which saw him move from third to first in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
The week after his American Express victory, Dunlap announced that he was turning professional and had accepted PGA Tour membership and he won his second tournament as a pro at the 2024 Barracuda Championship.

The former University of Alabama student competed in the recent Sony Open in Hawaii, the most recent tournament on the 2026 PGA Tour schedule, and he finished 61st.
Dunlap is currently placed 177th in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and his best overall is 30th place.
Why Dunlap is among the favourites
Two years ago, Dunlap shot 2-under in the final round to win the tournament by one stroke and became the first amateur to win a PGA Tour event since Phil Mickelson won the Tucson Open in 1991.
The 22-year-old, who finished eighth at the 2025 World Wide Technology Championship, will be looking to replicate the form which saw him make history at the La Quinta Country Club.
