Cameron Davis will be hoping to make history by becoming the first golfer to successfully retain the
Rocket Mortgage Classic title.
The Australian golfer caused an upset when he won last year's tournament as he recorded a winning score of 68-68-67-67=270.
It was Davis' first PGA Tour victory - defeating Troy Merritt and Joaquín Niemann in a playoff at the Detroit Golf Club.
Having turned professional in 2016, Davis won the 2017 Emirates Australian Open, a stroke ahead of Jonas Blixt and Matt Jones, after a final round 64.
It was his first professional win and automatic qualification into the 2018 Open Championship, as the tournament was part of the Open Qualifying Series.
Davis also had status on the Web.com Tour for 2018 after reaching the final round of Q School, after starting at First Stage.
The Sydney-born golfer, who won the 2018 Nashville Golf Open, is currently ranked 71st in the Official World Golf Rankings and he finished 16th at Sunday's 2022 3M Open.
''I've been in some good positions before, but to play the golf that I played coming down the stretch was just awesome,'' Davis after winning the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
''I just tried to put as much out of my mind as I could and just hit every shot for what it was worth.
"It has been pretty hectic ever since the 17th hole for me. I tried to put it as much out of mind as it could and hit every shot for what it's worth," he continued.
"As simple as it sounds, it's so hard to do when the pressure's on like that. I didn't make any putts, but I kept on putting it in play, so it worked out alright."
