Aldrich Potgieter will be looking to make it back-to-back victories in the 2025 PGA Tour season by winning the John Deere Classic.
What to know about Potgieter
The South African golfer turned professional in June 2023 and competed in the Korn Ferry Tour's Compliance Solutions Championship the following week, where he tied for 35th.
Potgieter became the youngest winner in Korn Ferry Tour history by winning The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic in 2024, aged 19, having won the 2022 Amateur Championship at the age of 17.

The Louis Oosthuizen Junior Golf Academy product was in action in the most recent PGA Tour event in 2025, which was the Rocket Classic in Michigan, USA, where he was crowned champion.
Potgieter is currently placed 49th on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), and it is also his best overall ranking.
Why Potgieter is among the favourites
The 20-year-old is oozing with confidence coming into the John Deere Classic after becoming the seventh-youngest PGA Tour winner since the start of 1983 at the Rocket Classic.
Potgieter made an 18-foot birdie putt on the fifth playoff hole to defeat Max Greyserman and claim his first PGA Tour victory and he has what it takes to win this weekend's tournament.

“It was a big grind. It was a very long day. Kind of couldn’t get ahead of myself. I didn’t get off to the best start," Potgieter said after winning the 2025 Rocket Classic.
“There was a switch that kind of went off when I lost the lead. I felt like I can kind of chase something. I had to pull myself out of the environment I was in before those first couple holes.
"And get in that chase mode where I can kind of play some different golf.”
