George Russell will be keen to register his second victory of the 2025 Formula One World Championship by clinching the British Grand Prix.

The Mercedes driver missed out on a podium spot at the Austrian Grand Prix on June 29, the most recent race on the 2025 Formula One World Championship calendar.
Russell started on the fifth grid and went on to finish fifth, which saw him accumulate 10 points from the race staged at the Red Bull Ring.
Formula One title ambitions
The 2011 SKUSA SuperNationals title winner is still placed fourth in the World Drivers' Championship standings, having accumulated 146 points.
However, Russell is nine points behind third-placed Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing and 70 points behind leader Oscar Piastri of McLaren.
Why Russell could win the 2025 British Grand Prix
The former Williams Racing driver recorded his first victory of the 2025 Formula One World Championship at the Canadian Grand Prix, as he sent a strong reminder to his Formula One rivals.
Russell, who has secured five podium spots this season, will be eager to register another victory in front of his family and compatriots at the Silverstone Circuit.
What did he say?
“Silverstone is the highest-speed circuit, but the tarmac is actually quite new, which is good news," Russell said ahead of the 2025 British Grand Prix.
"If the track temperature is the same like last year, it was like 20 degrees, I think, last year. So, it was quite cool, we were on pole. But if it's two weeks ago, it was 31 degrees in England.
"So, if it's 31 degrees, we won't be on pole this year.”
