Coach Jorge Sampaoli will now set his sights on bagging the full three points against the Blazers after firing blanks on Saturday.

In their opening match against Iceland, the Argentine team failed to dazzle when they drew 1-1 against a dedicated side.

Although skipper Messi is blamed for missing a penalty in the second half, the coach has protected his troops and believes they can do it on Thursday.

The Albiceleste now occupy joint second spot in the group with a point and are now under pressure to rise to the occasion and win their second clash.

Shifting focus to Croatia, the Europeans are fresh from a 2-0 win over Nigeria in their opener on Saturday night.

Guided by Zlatko Dalic, Croatia are aware that facing a disappointed and desperate side in Argentina will not be easy, but will want a win or a draw to ensure they remain in contention of reaching the knockout stages.

Sitting at the summit of the log table gives the Europeans huge belief in themselves and they will definitely head to the clash hoping to add more woes to the Argentine camp.

In head-to-head stats, the two countries have faced each other on two occasions of which the Argentine side have won twice while Croatia have one win. The other match ended in a draw.
