MotoGP bikes have unmatched power-to-weight ratio, meaning they can accelerate, reaching their top speeds remarkably fast. The bikes are capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in around 2.5 seconds, slightly faster than an average F1 car. The 250 horsepower bikes also maintain speeds of more than 100 mph through corners.

Rossi is easily the most iconic figure in MotoGP and even people who don’t follow the sport, know his name. However, Rossi hasn’t managed to win a trophy in the last 7 seasons. In fact, the Italian finished 5th in 2017 and 2nd in 2016. Despite this, his numerous world titles easily mark him as the world’s most successful MotoGP rider.

Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha completely dominate MotoGP. Aside from Ducati’s single victory in 2007, no other non-Japanese manufacturer has managed to win a title since 1974. Their dominance also doesn’t look like it will end with the 2017 season going to Marc Marquez on his Honda, with Ducati having to settle for second place.
