Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia will be targeting nothing but a victory when he takes part in the Catalan MotoGP race on June 6.

The Italian star was forced to retire from a race for the first time this season after he crashed out in the second lap in the recent Italian MotoGP on May 30.

Bagnaia has secured three podium finishes this term including back-to-back second spot finishes at the Portuguese MotoGP and Spanish MotoGP.

Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo won the Italian MotoGP, while Miguel Oliviera of KTM and Suzuki's Joan Mir finished second and third respectively.

Quartararo is still placed at the top of the Riders' standings and he is among the favourites to win this season's MotoGP world title.

The Ducati duo of Johann Zarco and Bagnaia are placed second and third respectively heading into the Catalan MotoGP.

Bagnaia will be looking to maintain his place in the top three by securing a win at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The 24-year-old disclosed that he was finding it “impossible” to concentrate on riding in Italy after Jason Dupasquier’s passing following a crash in Moto3 qualifying the day before.

“I’ve seen the news of Jason during the final part of Moto3[‘s race], before the start of Moto2," Bagnaia said.

"From that moment I start thinking just on the race, but was impossible. I was close to be concentrate but then one minutes of silence [before the MotoGP race], and … nothing.

"It was impossible to concentrate. “I started well, I was in front… but in any case, finish first or last today, nothing changes."

Yamaha are placed at the top of Constructors' Championship standings and they are followed by Ducati and Suzuki respectively.
