Central African Republic (CAR) will face Ghana in a 2023
Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier at the Estádio 11 de Novembro on June 5.
The Wild Beasts suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Angola away in their last competitive match which was the 2023 AFCON qualifier on June 1.
Therefore, CAR are winless in their last four competitive matches having recorded four successive defeats to Angola, Liberia, Cape Verde and Nigeria.
The Wild Beasts are also winless in their last six home matches in the AFCON qualifiers having recorded five defeats and one draw.
Meanwhile, Ghana thrashed Madagascar 3-0 at home in their last competitive game which was the 2023 AFCON qualifier on June 1.
The win extended the Black Stars' unbeaten run to three matches in competitive games having registered two consecutive draws and one win.
However, the four-time African champions are winless in their last two matches on the road in the AFCON qualifiers having registered one draw and one defeat as the visitors.
Ghana head coach, Otto Addo has disclosed that the two local players Augustine Okrah and Afriyie Barnieh drafted into the squad have made good impressions in training.
“I have been watching some games. The two players called made good impressions," Addo told the media.
"It’s important to see them live in training and the end, once we are on the pitch. I don’t care about who is local and who is not. The performance will decide."
This will be the first-ever meeting between CAR and Ghana.
