The 2023 RBC Canadian Open is set to place at the Oakdale Country Club in Toronto, Ontario, Canada between 8 and 11 June.
 
What to know about the tournament 
 
First played 119 years ago in 1904, this event has been held annually since then, except for during World War I, World War II and the COVID-19 pandemic. 
 
It is the third oldest continuously running tournament on the tour, after The Open Championship and the US Open.
 
The tournament is the only national championship that is a PGA Tour-managed event and it is sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC).

Tournament organizers, Golf Canada announced that 12 Canadians accepted exemptions into the 2023 RBC Canadian Open.
 
They will be joined by seven Canadian PGA TOUR members as part of a 19-player Canadian contingent for the 112th playing of the RBC Canadian Open.
 
Favourites 
 
Rory McIlroy will defend his RBC Canadian Open title having also clinched the 2022 trophy after the 2021 and 2020 events were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 
 
McIlroy will be joined by Matt Fitzpatrick, Sam Burns, Cameron Young, Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Sahith Theegala and Justin Rose who are part of the 156-player field. 
 
Four past RBC Canadian Open champions including Chez Reavie (2008), Sean O’Hair (2011), Brandt Snedeker (2013 ) and McIlroy will be present.
 
What Is At Stake 
 
The 2023 RBC Canadian Open will offer Official World Golf Ranking points to the winner, with final points ratings determined ahead of the event teeing off on Thursday.
 
The tournament boasts a purse of $9 million and the winner of the event will earn their share of $1,56 million, while also receiving a sterling silver trophy.
