Barbora Krejčíková will be keen to become the first Czech player to win back-to-back Wimbledon titles at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

What to know about Krejčíková

The 29-year-old has won two singles majors (at the 2021 French Open and the 2024 Wimbledon) and seven women's doubles majors, including the career Golden Slam in women's doubles.

Krejčíková won all seven of her women's doubles majors, partnering with compatriot Kateřina Siniaková.

News

The last time Krejčíková played singles tennis was at the HSBC Championships, where he was eliminated by Rebecca Sramkova of Slovakia in the first round on June 10.

The Brno-born athlete has a career-high ranking of world No. 2 in singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) and she is currently ranked 17th coming into the 2025 Wimbledon.

Why Krejčíková could win Wimbledon

Krejčíková returns to Wimbledon as the defending champion, having defeated seventh seed Jasmine Paolini in the final to win her second Major singles title in 2024.

The 2020 Olympic gold medal winner, who is a two-time singles Grand Slam champion, will be looking to replicate the form that saw him win Wimbledon.

What was said?

“When you compete at Wimbledon, you feel the history around you, the legends, the traditions, the royal connections," Krejčíková said ahead of the 2025 Wimbledon.

"It makes you want to rise to the occasion. Holding that beautiful trophy as a Wimbledon Champion, the same way my mentor Jana Novotna did, was an incredible experience.

"It was an incredibly powerful and long-lasting moment that I will remember forever.”
