In what is swiftly building up to be one of the most keenly anticipated fixtures in the
UEFA Nations League this year, France will hope to get one over the reigning Euros champions Spain when the two sides meet in the semi-finals at the MHPArena on Thursday.
France booked their spot in the tournament’s final four courtesy of a 5-4 penalty victory against Croatia in their second-leg, quarter-final assignment on the 23
rd of March.
Croatia went into the second-leg with a 2-0 advantage from their initial tie, however, efforts by Micheal Olise and Ousmane Dembele saw the 2018 FIFA World Cup winners draw level in dramatic fashion at Stade de France.

Speaking ahead of the tie, Deschamps revealed that he hoped some of his first-team stars joined the training group at an earlier stage.
“Honestly, both players were willing to come this Friday,” Deschamps said on Sunday, 1
st of June.
“But they (Real Madrid) are abiding by the rules, and the FIFA deadline is June 2. I won’t blame the players for doing what the club wants.
“I’m not going to put the players on the spot with their club. Kylian, as captain, wanted to be back with the group, but that’s the way things are.”
