Fabio Di Giannantonio will be eager to keep up with the top two riders by clinching the Hungarian MotoGP with his Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team Ducati.

Most recent race

The 27-year-old put in a strong showing for VR46 at the Italian MotoGP on 31 May, finishing third in the Sprint race.

Di Giannantonio backed it up with a solid fifth-place finish in the main Grand Prix after staying in the leading group for most of the race on his home soil, showing good pace on the Ducati.

MotoGP ambitions

The Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer sits third in the 2026 MotoGP Riders' standings with 134 points.

Di Giannantonio trails championship leader Marco Bezzecchi by 39 points. He is just 22 points behind teammate Marco Bezzecchi’s closest rival.

Why Di Giannantonio could win the Hungarian MotoGP

Di Giannantonio has done well in 2026, consistently fighting near the front and showing excellent race pace on the Ducati.

The Roman-born rider has already taken three podiums this season and has looked sharp in recent rounds.

Diggia will be pushing hard to convert his strong 2026 form into his first win of the year at Balaton Park.

Quotes

“Unfortunately, my race was hard right from the start, I was packed in the group and I had to close the gas," Di Giannantonio said after the 2026 Italian MotoGP.

"But we had to believe it, we had a strong pace, especially in the second half of the race. Weh ad a great race, we must be happy. It’s always satisfying and fun to overtake many riders.

"Obviously, I wanted something more here at Mugello, it was my home race. I tried to do my maximum, I would have loved to be on the podium, but it was a great weekend overall, we must be happy!”
