World no. 1 Scottie Scheffler is one of five past champions in a stacked field for the Travelers Championship from 18-21 June.
The American won the tournament in 2024 when he carded a 22-under 258 to beat Tom Kim in a playoff, missing the scoring record by one stroke.
Scheffler enjoyed a stellar season that year, racking up seven PGA Tour victories, including his second Masters title before adding the PGA Championship and the Open Championship to his list of major accolades in 2025.
The most recent of his 20 PGA Tour wins came at the American Express in January this year, although the 30-year-old finished second at the Masters, the RBC Heritage and the Cadillac Championship.
Scheffler was bidding to complete a career Grand Slam at the US Open, but his two birdies in a final-round 71 wasn't enough to reel in Wyndham Clark despite beating the champion by two shots in their final-pairing showdown.
The four-time major winner finished four strokes behind Clark in T4 and admitted his challenge had already faltered in the first round when he shot a 72.
"I felt close again," Scheffler said. "It's just little things here and there.
"I've been pretty good in first rounds over the last few years, and for some reason, the sharpness just hasn't been there early in tournaments.
"I haven't had those leads that I've needed in order to win tournaments. I've been playing catch-up all year."
