After missing out on the Terra Wortmann Open earlier this month, Germany’s Alexander Zverev will hope to get over his fourth-round hurdle at Wimbledon this year.

Zverev’s best showing at Wimbledon through the years was reaching the fourth round in 2017, 2021 and 2024 where he was eliminated in five-set matches on all occasions.

As it stands, the 29-year-old is ranked number three on the ATP singles rankings with 7190 points. His move up the table was boosted when he claimed the 2026 Roland Garros title on 7 June where he beat Flavio Cobolli 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7 and 6-1 to claim his first Grand Slam title.

With 25 career titles to his name so far, Zverev was a runner-up on three separate occasions in Grand Slam tournaments, namely the 2020 US Open, 2024 French Open and also, the 2025 Australian Open.

As perhaps Zverez’ most prolific year of his career, the 29-year-old claimed 69 wins in 2024, the highest among all contenders on the ATP Tour.

Speaking after his semi-final exit at the hands of Taylor Fritz at the Terra Wortmann Open, Zverev expressed that he will head into Wimbledon with lessons learned from the tournament.

“In some way, this has provided me with positive indications regarding Wimbledon because I believe I have found my rhythm quite effectively on the grass,” the German said.

“I sincerely hope I will be able to demonstrate that level of performance at Wimbledon as well.”
