Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat continued their great form in the National Basketball Association (NBA) over the weekend.

Former champions Lakers recorded their fourth consecutive win in the competition when they defeated New Orleans Pelicans 123-113 at home on Sunday.
 
As a result, Lakers are placed at the top of the Pacific Division standings ahead of second placed Los Angeles Clippers.
 
Lebron James, the Lakers power forward, has been impressed by the progress made by Anthony Davis and his team.

“Yes, that’s for all of us since November. We all have grown and figured out ways we can continue to help each other,” James explained on Lakers Nation.

“I think for him, any time you come from a different program or a different franchise and a different system, it takes a little while to kind of understand how you’re gonna be your best for the better of the team.

"And I think every month AD has gotten better and the rest of the team has just fallen behind that.”

Clippers secured their 25th win in the Pacific Division when they defeated New York Knicks 135-132 in an enthralling match on Saturday.
 
While the defending champions Toronto Raptors are second on the Atlantic Division standings having defeated Brooklyn Nets 121-102 on Sunday.
 
Golden State Warriors' struggles in the NBA continued as they were defeated 111-104 by Detroit Pistons on Saturday.
 
The defeat left the former NBA champions placed at the bottom of the Pacific Division standings.
 
Lastly, Miami Heat and Boston Celtics maintained their great form in the competition by recording wins over Portland Trail Blazers and Chicago Bulls respectively.
 
As a result, Heat are sitting at the top of the Southeast Division, while Celtics placed at the top of the Atlantic Division.
