Arnautovic

The Hammers finally picked up their first league win of the campaign, at the fifth time of asking, when they ran-out convincing 3-1 winners over Everton last time out. Summer-signing Andriy Yarmolenko looked lively throughout as he made his first start for the club, twice finding the back of the net. He could lead the line this weekend with reports suggesting that West Ham’s current top goal scorer Marko Arnautovic could be sidelined through injury.

Chelsea on the other hand are flying higher than all the rest at this early stage under head coach Maurizio Sarri. Five wins from their opening five matches sees the Blues just ahead of Liverpool on goal-difference at the summit of the Premier League table. Eden Hazard’s stunning hat-trick against Cardiff City took the Belgian’s tally to five goals in his last three matches and helped seal an emphatic 4-1 win in the last league outing.

Hazard hat-trick

Chelsea have lost on four of their last seven visits to West Ham in all competitions and have won just six of their last 13 games against them since December 2012 when three second-half goals helped secure a memorable come-from-behind 3-1 wins against the Blues, ending a 13-game winless run against their more fancied London opponents in the process.

The corresponding fixture last season ended 1-0 to the Hammers thanks to Marko Arnautovic’s sixth-minute strike.
