The Foxes are unbeaten in four matches across all competitions and beat Sheffield United 5-0 before the international break to cement third spot on the league standings. Kelechi Iheanacho scored a hat-trick in that win and will now be taking aim at his former employers.

City themselves are unbeaten in four matches and defeated Fulham 3-0 on the road in their most recent Premier League tussle, with both Leicester and the Cityzens having booked their spot in the FA Cup semi-finals in March.

Victory at Craven Cottage kept City 14 points clear atop the Premier League standings and manager Pep Guardiola was delighted with how his team played away to Fulham, who had beaten Liverpool at Anfield a few days prior to that match.

“In general, the game was really good in a tough, tough stadium, they came here and they won at Anfield last week and they always create chances,” Guardiola said.

“We controlled really well and we played in the first half really well and we cannot deny we scored the first goal in the first minute (of the second half) with John (Stones) and after much later, the second and the third and it was an important and brilliant victory.

“We knew it was important this week with three games in three different competitions, we started with one (win). But eight games left in the Premier League."

Leicester City claimed an emphatic 5-2 win over Manchester City at Etihad Stadium in the reverse fixture earlier this season. Foxes forward Jamie Vardy scored three times, including to penalties in a memorable scalp for Brendan Rodgers.
