2021/22 English Premier League

Matchday 30

Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
London, England
Sunday, 20 March 2022
Kick-off is at 16h30

Tottenham will be looking to keep their fading top-four hopes alive when they host West Ham in a London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, March 20.

Antonio Conte's side saw their Champions League challenge suffer another damaging blow with a 3-2 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Eighth-placed Spurs had won their previous two encounters against Leeds (4-0) and Everton (5-0) by big margins, although they have two games in hand on the three teams above them in the table.

The north Londoners trail Arsenal by six points, with their arch-rivals currently occupying fourth position and having played one match less.

Prior to the visit of the Hammers this weekend, they travel to Brighton on Wednesday and Conte insists his players need to be prepared for a tough week ahead.

"Now we have two tough games against Brighton, I watched their game against Liverpool and in the first half, they were dangerous, Brighton are a good team, then West Ham, who are also fighting for the top four," the Italian told Spurs TV.

"Now we have to recover and to be ready to play on Wednesday and then on Sunday."

The east Londoners got their top-four push back on track with a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at the London Stadium on Sunday.

David Moyes' men had lost 1-0 to Liverpool one week prior which halted a four-game unbeaten run. They are three points behind the Gunners in sixth position, having played three matches more.

Moyes has been encouraged by what his team has achieved this season and he is hopeful that they can keep making progress in order to challenge the big-name clubs.

"I've been incredibly proud of the players since the start of the season in how they're going about their work," the Scot said. "We're only just getting started in terms of challenging the top teams.

"Aston Villa have spent a lot of money and have got a really good team, full of talented players. We're having a go with what we've got, and I'm hoping we can continue to build and get better."
