Current Form

The Big Grass Snake suffered a 1-0 defeat to Juventus FC at home on March 19 and it was their second consecutive league defeat.

The defeat ended Inter's three-match unbeaten run at home having recorded three consecutive victories at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza before hosting Juventus.

On the other hand, Fiorentina claimed a 1-0 win over US Lecce at home on March 19 as they extended their unbeaten run to five matches in the Serie A.

Viola are also undefeated in their last two matches on the road having recorded two successive victories as the visitors.

What Is At Stake

Inter are now placed third on the league standings - two points behind second-placed SS Lazio with nine matches left.

Simone Inzaghi's side will be eager to secure a win over Fiorentina in order to revive their hopes of finishing in the top two positions.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina find themselves placed ninth on the league standings and they will be keen to boost their hopes of finishing in the top six with a win over Inter.

Team News

Inter players Dalbert, Robin Gosens, Alessandro Bastoni, Milan Skriniar and Federico Dimarco are currently injured, while Danilo D'Ambrosio is suspended.

On the other hand, Fiorentina have no suspension worries, but Aleksa Terzić, Luka Jović, Cristiano Biraghi and Salvatore Sirigu are all part of the club's injury list.

Quotes

"We conceded a goal that shouldn't have stood and changed the course of the match; something very serious happened," Inzaghi said after their defeat to Juventus.

"It wasn't easy in the first half because they were defending deeply with many men. The team did well in the second half and created opportunities.

"We could have equalised in a match that, unfortunately, was characterised by incidents that steered it in Juventus' favour. The result doesn't reflect what happened on the pitch."

Head-to-Head

Inter edged out Fiorentina 4-3 in their last meeting in the league which was on 22 October 2022 at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

As a result, the Big Grass Snake are undefeated in their last 11 league matches having recorded six wins and five draws.
